I'm a poverty lawyer in a college town set squarely in SmallFarmLand. I wish I spoke Spanish. I used to sing professionally. I miss my mom every day (she died in October 2008 after a long illness) and worry about my remaining immediate blood family far more than I would like to. I have two cats, strong opinions, a prow like a ship, good friends I don't talk to enough, a taste for dark chocolate, and a new thirty-staple scar in my right knee that allows me to walk less like Quasimodo. I'm far more introverted than anyone believes. I'd like to travel more and fret less. If I ran the world, everyone would start life with a good fair shot at survival and I'd be a vegetarian caterer in Portland.
